Neighborhood Walk

I thought you might enjoy a quick look around my neighborhood.  It’s hilly in spots around here which I don’t mind at all since this allows for a bird’s eye view of the forest.

Within the forest there are many wooded paths to walk through, and I especially love the feeling of being wrapped gently by a canopy of tree limbs suspended above.

Sights of sunshine colored berries always brightens up my mood…

…and here are some pretty petite petals with heads raised towards the sky.

During my walks around the neighborhood there are fields of red as far as the eye can see.

And beneath my feet there are prickly pine cones scattered all over the ground…these punctuations of rough texture perfectly offsets the soft bed of pine needles.

Very soon the lakes around here will be hugged in vibrant swaths of color (I took this photo last year,) bringing deep and satisfying beauty…I can hardly wait.

As I stand within the shadows of anticipation I have to remind myself that it’s good to be patient…it’s good to be in the moment.

As much as I look forward to the peak of Fall, I know to take advantage of the view as it is right now.  And right now everything still glistens in green…so lovely and alive and full of promise.

  1. Thank you for taking me on a stroll of your view; it was lovely~ I miss New England’s charm. I am finding charm elsewhere, yes, but my roots are forever tinged red, for my love of this part of the world. There is nothing like the quiet peacefulness of these walks. The soul is allowed to wander in pure bliss~ Soon the mood will turn, enJOY the gift of now~

  5. I love this post Becky! Thank you for taking us on a walk. Looks like you live in a beautiful area. Autumn is my favorite time of year. The weather here is still 90’s during the day, and should cool off soon, but we will not get the colors like other parts of the country do. I will miss seeing the fall colors of Seattle this year. Hope you post more photos around your area when the colors come out.

absolutely gorgeous!!! I love fall too. love changing of the seasons. fall is filled with memories- baking, cooler nights, walks in the sugar bush, sweaters, school, and the smells. your walk was lovely. not going to get that sun today- rainy again. but when it’s shining I’ll have to take a walk back to the bush to enjoy those beautiful trees. thanks for the walk.
