Giveaway – Necklace and Kit Inspired by Motherly Love

A Mother’s love is as deep as an ocean.    This is what comes to mind when I think about Brook and how much she means to me.  She is my biggest inspiration, in life and with art.

With Brook as my muse, last year I created several necklaces using small pieces of driftwood which we collected during one of our beach outings.  That day we also found extra-large clam shells which I later used to create a personalized jewelry container for a special “love” necklace that I made for Brook.  You can see the details for both of these projects in last summer’s issue of Somerset Life.   Please keep in mind that I’ll be sharing more project ideas in the coming issue of Somerset Life available at Stampington

This giveaway will include three parts:  A necklace (published in my article, “Endless Love”) and a kit containing the materials for making your own necklace (pre-drilled driftwood – 1 painted and 1 natural, freshwater pearls, wire and chain.)  I will also include a copy of my article which covers the how-to details.  Plus, I’ll add a few other beach combing surprises that could come in handy for future art projects.   If you’d like to win these items please leave a comment to this post by Friday, May 14th at 4pm est.

  3. I love that saying reminds of something I have heard. A Mother’s love is as big as a house, deep as an ocean and vast as the stars. I don’t know who actually said, it! I like your expression…. A love of a child, is deep, unconditional and like no other! I love you found such wonderful inspiration in nature! Nature really nurtures creativity~ When you take the time to look, there is a lot of great masterpieces! I would love to be in the
drawing for this wonderful, unique giveaway!

Happy Mother’s Day Becky! It is a celebration of being able to see pieces of yourself, grow, change and always amaze you! A piece of your heart, walking, talking and changing before your very eyes! It is magic~

  5. Helen, your son is very lucky to have a mother who tells him such sweet words. I bet that when he hears this he’s imagining how long a distance this really is – these thoughts probably make him feel happy beyond measure.

Another smile Becky! the beach is one of my most favorite places to be! I’ve spent endless hours collecting sea glass ( I have an ENORMOUS collection ) I can’t go the beach with out coming home with a pocket full of assorted treasures! I think we’re kindred spirits! (O:

  7. Doreen, Wow…you have access to sea glass! Everywhere we go I’m on the lookout for some, but so far no luck. It’s a good thing that I love the search so much, so I’m happy to keep trying. The hunt is a big part of the fun don’t you think?

Just yesterday I was thinking about how fortunate I am to have so many wonderful female influences in my life; all mothers and daughters in our relationships together. I find the your depiction of the worn drift wood that is weathered the good and bad times with the combination of the pearls a jewel of the sea that is created by the irritations of life such a beautiful tribute to the love of a mother and daughter.
