Beginning today and running throughout the rest of the week I’ll be participating as a guest curator over at Crescendoh. This will be my second time there. Last time I shared my personal Art Saves story which you can read here, and this time I decided to go with a poem (inspired by my love of making things.) And speaking of making things, what wonderful things have you been creating these days? Or perhaps you’ve been enjoying a lazy summer? Lately I’ve been feeling a pull towards all things quiet, and my mind seems to be humming at a comfortably low lull. I hope you’ve also been taking pleasure in the slow and simple rhythms of Summer.

Hi Becky,
How exciting for you; I look forward to reading your words and seeing your picks of inspiration. I’ve been working on the “Summer of Color” challenge.
This week is red; it is pushing me to create more and I love it~
I had a lull week going to the lake, it was peaceful and so enjoyed the change in scenery. I do love the easy, breezy feeling that summer provides.

I’ll have to stop over and take a look. Summer definitely is a distraction from work, chores and even creative time. I found some balance this weekend though. I have some posts to do this week of new projects that I really had fun creating. I’m doing the “Summer of Color” challenge too with Ellen above. I had a great date with the husband this weekend and spent some quality time with the kids too. Don’t ask me if the laundry is done. lol

The “Summer of Color” challenge sounds like fun. And as soon as you mentioned red, visions of juicy cherries popped into mind (since they’re currently in season I’ve been eating them almost daily.) I’m glad to know that you’ve both been fitting in creative fun along with some down time.

Congratulations Becky. It is always such a pleasure to read what you write and see all that you create. I am feeling the joys of pulling weeds. It isn’t all that bad when the results are so instantly seen. My summer is passing all too quickly as I love summer and heat.

Well our move was successful. Found a safe place to land and I’m feathering my nest as fast as I can. Loving the quiet summer mornings the most but I hear my new studio calling my name and asking to be christened. Not sure where my inspiration is hidden. Maybe I haven’t unpacked that box yet. I did finally get the latest issue of Somerset Life. Beautiful work as always!
