And for all you fellow tree lovers, here’s a look at a mini Christmas tree that I made for my good friend Melissa last year.
I have a heaping handful of vintage spools at the ready, waiting to be made into many more mini trees. However, I’ve run out of wire (last week I got carried away and made an entire flock of birds in trees in spools.) Sometimes it’s hard to stop…this happens to me A LOT. Does this happen to you too?

I love the single jeweled ornament, that is such an effective accent for your tree.
I used to get carried away when I had more time, but I know what you mean…it’s great to get carried away making beautiful things!

It’s a woolie weekend in So. Cal. – rain and snow on the mountain tops. Love your little spool tree. How did you anchor the tree to the spool? Also, enjoy your little treasures Fay!

Hi Dorothy…to answer your question: I bent (folded over) the wires at the bottom of the tree so that the wires would be snug against the inside of the spool. Then I used a good amount of craft glue to keep it all in place.

What a sweet little tree – I really like the simple little “bling”, just the right amount! I can picture a whole line up of these little trees on a fireplace mantle….
