Stepping into Fall

Fall is here and I am ready…real, real ready.  I’m ready for the scenery to come alive, in toasty-warm colors as the temperature cools.  This change feels good.

Below are several snapshots (taken last year) of my favorite fall sights from a trip to Portsmouth, New Hampshire.  Portsmouth is just about an hour’s drive from our home in Massachusetts, but every time I go there it feels like I have traveled thousands of miles away, and maybe even through time to get there…because it’s THAT special.  And it’s a town that fully appreciates things from the past, which is evident in the architecture.

And as always…there is sky.

Before I end this post I should mention the winner of my window necklaces (from my previous post).

Wendy, please contact me with your mailing address so that I can send things your way.  And thank you to everyone who participated in the giveaway…I very much appreciate hearing from you.

Happy Fall Frolicking!

  2. Ooh…I love the fog. Looking into it makes me think of all the possibilities also (like looking at windows). Thanks for putting this image into my mind Laura.

Oh I love these pictures — you sure know how to appreciate a good door and window! I seriously would not look twice at these things as I’m breezing by but now I do 😉

Lovely fall photos-I especially love the old architectural elements-always did have a special place in my heart for vintage 🙂

LOVE the pictures!! what are the berries on the tree? Couldn’t really tell what they are. I’d love to cut some branches off and put in vases. I’ve started fall decorating here. Makes it feel a little cooler….even if it’s in my mind.

  6. Mindy, I’m not sure about the type of berries. But I sure love how sweet and festive they look…definitely vase worthy.

  7. Don’t you love the color blue of an autumn sky and the beautiful golden light and the yellows, oranges and reds of the leaves gently falling to the ground and the crackle of a warming fire …. Love the wonders of Fall!!

  10. Becky your photos are wonderful and they allow me to travel without leaving my home. 🙂 I really enjoyed these beautiful colors and sites.

  11. Fall is definitely my favourite too. In summer there is always a haze in the air, but now the colours are heightened; clearer and sharper. Sweaters, oven dinners, warm fires and quilts, more time for creating and other than shovelling snow, no yard work!
