Baby Birdie Love

Kerenza, who’s like a sister to me recently had her first baby…what happiness!  To honor brand new Mama and baby Owen I created a little 4″ x 4″ canvas for them.

The bond of mother and child…

…is strong and steady…

…yet soft and gentle.

And shimmers with love.

Tomorrow, Bill, Brook and I will be heading to the nearby Hudson Valley area to visit some of the people who are closest to me.  The subject of family has been on my mind a lot recently, and I have a feeling that this will be showing up in my artwork going forward.

For our short trip to New York I’m planning on bringing a big ball of cozy blue yarn so that I can knit myself a scarf.  I love sitting around with the people I love, simply talking and knitting, listening and sharing.  And you, what things will you be enjoying this weekend?

Wishing you a happy loving weekend with you and yours!

Your planned weekend sounds so blissful.
A mixed bag for me this weekend, from focusing on birthday cards for dear friends to stamping art that needs my attention for DTs – will remain to see how much I manage to achieve but plenty on the To Do List!

Sweet birdies!! are they felted? Your weekend sounds fun. Nothing special going on here. Celebrating our anniversary today….brings new meaning to “in sickness and in health”. Tomorrow going to a corn maze with the kids. I’m taking my cell phone just in case I get lost. 🙂

Becky, hope the family spirit is inspiring you this weekend. I’m seeing some wonderful sights on our trip to the UK, and can hardly wait to get home to put these lovely images on paper and canvas. Simple elegance seems to be the best description for what I am seeing….in fact that would be my description of your work!

  20. What a beautiful canvas Becky! I am currently trying to teach myself how to knit, it’s so much fun. I am starting with a wash cloth, but ultimately would like to make hats and finger-less gloves. Send some happy knitting vibes my way!
