On a recent trip to the craft store, I only planned to grab some glue, but as soon as I spotted this spool of yellow string I just had to have it. To me, this string sings sunshine.
I used these cheerful strands of hemp string to make a tassel.
And then I used the tassel to make a necklace.
I ended up making two necklaces…one to keep and one to share. So if you’d like a little bit of sunshine to wear around your neck, just let me know by leaving a comment to this post (the first one to claim it can have it).
Wishing you all a happy weekend with bright, beautiful sunshine.

Too late to claim the necklace…but not too late to tell you how pretty it is!! You always make such wonderful things Becky!
Love that spool of yellow string…it says sunshine to me too…I’d have snatched it up for sure. There hasn’t been a whole lot of sunshine around here lately!

Lovely hearing from you again Marie. There hasn’t been much sunshine in my parts either, but this weekend we’re supposed to see some sun…just in time for Father’s Day. I hope the sunshine makes it out to you too.

That’s a great color Becky! LOL I had to laugh when you said you only went in for glue because I can NEVER make it out of a craft store without more stuff! Happy Weekend!

I’m with Becca…..it’s hard for me to go in a craft store and come out with one item only. Nice color and cute idea! We’re having tons of sunshine here. Hope you have some on Father’s Day!

Becca, Mindy…to be completely honest I also left the store with some pretty beads. A girl needs her beads right?!

Becky, As I can see, I’m wayyyyyyy toooo late to claim your pretty bit of sunshine, but hurray, the sun is finally shining in my neighborhood and the birds are celebrating with their morning song.
Back to your necklace, it’s amazing how some people can look at something as simple as twine and envision a necklace. That’s true artistry!
Now, to wait and see what you create with the rest of that twine!
Have a wonderful day in the sun and enjoy your Father’s Day celebration,
JoJo

Hi Becky, Such a unique use for a tassel. Makes me think of all the graduations going on right now and the sunny, excited attitude most young people have as they look forward to their future experiences in life. It is beautiful, thanks for sharing the idea!
