This past Wednesday I spent the entire day at home, voluntarily snowed in, where it’s wonderfully warm and cozy. I stayed in my pajamas and worked all day long, diligently re-organizing my studio. Being at home I was reminded of how much I enjoy this quiet time…this alone time…time to think. Last winter I spent a record of three solid days at home without once leaving the house. I didn’t have to drive my daughter to school since she takes the bus, we had plenty of food in the house (I’m always prepared in this area) and I didn’t have any appointments scheduled. So I used the winter’s cold as an excuse to stay in. I loved keeping busy at home. I loved being alone…working…thinking…then working some more. After years of complaining about this nasty cold/dark season, I’ve finally come to appreciate the good part of winter – the part that lures me to stay home…home sweet home.
But I’m careful not to stay in too long… otherwise I’d miss out on all of this.

So spectacular…so well worth braving the cold. And then so good to return home again, where there is warmth and a studio full of almost organized art supplies.

Love the pics and how the cold of this season, gives us great moments of warmth and coziness! I miss the snow; we do get snow here in NC,
but it isn’t a lot, enough to usually make 1 snow man, which is enough
to bring lots of glee to the neighborhood kids.
I envy your organized studio…this is what i need to do! I do think time alone, reflection and solitude, do usually create the best moments for
creative flares and moving meditation(walks).

LOVE the snowy pictures! What a beautiful neighborhood you live in. We used to get a lot of snow in Maryland, but not so much anymore. More of that terrible ICE. I’ve found the older I get the more of a home-body I’ve become. I love being home alone and not going out all day or night!

i so miss the snow. we had a few flakes several weeks ago, but that is rare in my area. thank you for sharing such wonderful pictures. i completely understand the wonder of coming home after enjoying the beauty of snow.

I too love those days when I can be at home and hibernate. Living in Florida I don’t get the beautiful snow tho’. I miss the snow every year. I grew up in the Southwest and we had snow every year. Enjoyed seeing your photos. How beautiful!
