Freedom to Flow

I hope you all enjoyed the July 4th holiday…did you exercise your freedom to relax and celebrate?  Did you have some time to just go with the flow?  Lately I’ve been trying to go with the flow more.  And you can see some of my recent artwork that reflects this mindset in the current issue of Somerset Studio.

Within my article, “Opening Doors and Windows,” you’ll see some examples of my latest passion: watercolor paint with mixed media.

Going outside of my comfort zone and exploring new areas of art feels right to me now, and just letting things flow feels right too.  How about you, which doors/windows are you curious to open?

Here’s to openness and to letting it flow!

  1. Doors and windows – honestly Becky, that’s another thing we have in common! I took more pictures of doors and windows on our trip than anything. I love not just the architecture of them (the hardware was amazing) but that they open to bring you in, and also to take you out. I’m off to the newsstand on my lunch today to see what I can see…

Hello, Mrs. Shander. I just read your article, “Opening Doors & Windows”. It is very good advice that I shall take to heart. Your very first sentence is exactly how I feel about attempting to do my own artwork (or other tasks as well). I like what you have done with the windows and doors in your work. When my husband takes our family out driving….I always find myself looking at those parts of houses and buildings. Especially the older houses. I hope you write more articles in the future and happy belated birthday!
