Deeper Meaning and a Dragonfly

Being in nature has a way of opening me up, giving me the space and tranquility to see life with a broader perspective…I am thankful for these opportunities to look outside of myself.  Inspired by these thoughts I created this…

If you’d like to make a dragonfly too, you can find the instructions next to my piece that was published in the Winter issue of Sew Somerset.

Happy December…may it be a month full of meaning and genuine joy.

  11. Just a couple of quick tips for anyone who’s interested in making a dragonfly. I used a piece of recycled wool sweater for the main body. The details on the wings were machine sewn, and the wings (3 cotton fabric) were sewn on top of a base of organic cotton batting for more structure. I’d be happy to answer any other questions you might have.

  13. Becky
The fragile, translucency shows up so much better in your photograph.
I could imagine it being lifted away on the slightest breeze.
    An ethereal beauty.

  16. Oh Becky, these dragon flies are lovely! That filmy material reminds me of their wings. And the sentiment is quite thought provoking.
