Jewelry and Valentines Day seem to go together hand in hand so I’ve been having fun making these bits of bling. Creating these tokens of love didn’t require spending lots of time or money. For instance, I purchased a small box full of 18 glittery red hearts for just $4. And most of the other components like the silver heart, black button, beads, etc. , are repurposed vintage finds. Taking scraps and turning them into something new and possibly even wearable…oh such bliss!

Happy Heart day to you; the red off sets the silver and illuminates, very pretty!
The lucky recipients will definitely be pleased! I am intrigued by mica;
I love the old, worn quality of it; It has that quartz crystal look. It gives everything a different slant!
My kind of eye candy!

Becky, I love the way you use mica in your pieces – it really gives the piece a look of antiquity. I love glitter, too. My daughter and I are always attracted by glittery things. I think it’s a love of all things whimsical. Hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
God bless you,
Lisa

Love your heart bags. I saw them in the Green Craft Magazine. I bought a copy after Shona Cole of An Artful Life, http://www.shonastudio.blogspot.com showed me her copy. She just made one and posted it on her blog. You may already be aware of this, but she has written a book called The Artistic Mother published by North Light Books. She is doing a giveaway of the book for those doing a blog post about it. If you do one, you could win her book. I have a discussion and a review on both of my blogs going on right now if you want to learn more about the book.
My family and I made the heart bags last night. I’ll be posting them on my art blog on Saturday. http://www.artisticcreationswithtrudy.blogspot.com
I also have a sewing blog, http://www.sewingwithtrudy.blogspot.com

Trudy, Thanks for the heads up (got notice from Shona earlier but didn’t know exactly when she was planning to post it.) And thanks for your other links too – I’ll definitely stop by to visit.

Becky,
thanks for visiting my blog, but more for your lovely project. Mine didn’t turn out as nice as your by any stretch, but I loved the exercise.
Your art work and jewelry are lovely.
Thank you talented woman! I am glad I found you via Green Craft.
