Exchanging Birds

Exchanging artwork is a great way to connect with other artists, and for me, it’s especially the case when the subject is birds.   Here’s a look at what Marion created and so generously sent my way.  I love the rich colors that she chose as well as the adventure-minded text.

And here’s what I created for Marion.   I often use the word, “balance” which is something I’m always striving to accomplish.

Like this birdie, I do best when I’m focused on “1” thing at a time.

We’re almost at the end of Winter and I can’t wait! …to be outside again…to see and hear the birds…to take in big gulps of fresh air…to walk around and window shop…to stand under the stars at night without freezing my ears off…I can’t wait!  How about you, what Spring things do you look forward to most?

  4. I love all four pieces. I will head over and say hello to Marion. “Balance” is a word all working Mom’s should know! What is the second bird made from Becky? Looks like an old sponge? Doing collage work this week and had a fun day adding some painting with my daughter. We painted with anything but a paintbrush. It was fun to see her mind open up to the idea that imperfect is sometimes just right. Have a great weekend…the birds are singing here. It is 80 degrees!

  10. These are all so fun! Are they ATC size? I need to start creating some of those, especially since I’ve been collection them for a while now!

Spring seems to have definitely sprung in my neck of the woods. It was 80 and sunny today. I think we’ll have a few more cool days but we are definitely done with the freezes. Not that we get that many of them anyway!

  13. Oh wow, I love these birds Becky! What a lovely gift and also the bird you made! I really look forward to spring too, and just being able to “sit” out side in my chair in the sun and read. We are supposed to be getting rain/snow showers tomorrow, then by next week in to the 70’s so that’s weird, but I’m looking forward t it.
Take care, and enjoy your weekend! 🙂

  16. The most wonderful thing happened to me this past week…
In between snow storms, I was woken up one morning by the chirping of little birds outside our bedroom window!! I almost expected to open the curtains and see the beautiful geen grass and feel the warm sunshine. Although the later didn’t happen, it sure put a smile on my face to here those little birds!
