While in DC we saw happy shots of red…
…and yellow.
And we even saw these two colors combined…such as at the National Cherry Blossom Art Show at Union Station. All the pieces in this show were created by grade school children. While looking at these wonderful works of art, I made a mental note to myself to go home and play around with some old-fashioned tissue paper. BTW, I like how this artist snuck in pinches of pink.
Worn red bricks with a bright yellow door…I love this classic and understated look.
I also love this over-the-top look.
Here’s a hot air balloon with the same color accents.
And speaking of hot…have you ever had a fresh, out-of-the-oven Krispy Kreme donut? I never did until this one, and it was so fabulously good that I had to have seconds. BTW, notice the red and yellow in the background…it’s interesting to me how these happy colors were everywhere.
I hope you’ll be surrounded by an abundance of warm and happy colors on Mothers Day…wishing you many sweet and tender moments as well.

I am extremely distracted by the warm Krispy Kreme donut in this post. YES, I have had one hot off the presses that literally melted in my mouth. Oh my…our local store closed 🙁 When the kids were little it was a HUGE treat to go and let them watch the donuts being made…even better than the car wash. lol

Great shots of your trip Becky, love all the flowers and that yellow door looks so cool. Yep, I’ve had those donuts straight out of the oven, and just seeing this one is making me drool. I think I could eat a whole dozen! Hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day!

you are lucky enough to have visited the krispy kreme store to have the “original”, and only “hot fresh” is the way to get them. around here, we get our regular doughnuts, and if the “hot fresh” light is on, we double treat ourselves to a warm “original”. not everyone is priveledged enough to have a store in their city.

Addictive confections over here; brilliant, bright colors and sugar heaven!
Funny, we don’t have a doughnut shop around, probably a good thing, but they have them in our local grocery store. Yes, they are sooo Goood!
