Tickled Pink

It’s good to be back.  I wasn’t expecting to step away for so long…have the days been slipping by you too quickly as well?  Have you been playing catch-up like me?  And speaking of catching up, here’s a quick look at some things I noticed during our Spring break vacation which ended over a week ago…see, I’m behind on things…oh well.  BTW, we were in DC over the break and everywhere I looked I saw pink!

Pretty pink petals with sunshine in the middle…this combination is perfection.

I love how this red painted door fades into a chalky-pink.

Windows dressed in passionate pink makes quite a bold “shade” statement…this definitely grabbed my attention and made me smile.

Here’s something that looks like an underwater sunflower to me.  I love how water has a way of making things look dreamy and more alive.

I created the piece below using light layers of pale pink watercolor paint along with a few other simple materials/techniques.

Adding subtle brush strokes here and there, going completely by gut is oh-so fun.

At the moment playing with this gentle rosy-shade gives me that tickled pink feeling.  What about you…what color has been tickling your fancy?

  1. I’m tickled pink, too! My roses are in full bloom one is pink n’ white stripes, the other orangey pink…they are bright n’ beautiful! The Pinata rose changes from peachy orange to deep pink with red on the edges. I can’t help but think of Hawaiian punch when I see them. It amazes me how happy, pleased as punch I am, when I see these cheery blooms~

Wonderful photos; thanks for sharing! I love your watercolor dress~

  2. I love pink! We have many light pink walls in our house. I think people thought we were crazy but it has been the happiest color to live in…for twenty-five years now!

I am tickled pink that you let the color capture you and surround you with joy and playfulness!

    Pink hugs,
    Suz

  4. Hi Becky! I bet you got to see the pretty cherry blossoms in DC didn’t you? I’ve only been there in the fall. Pretty “pink” photos, and love the water color dress, so fun! I’ve been taking on line art workshops and having a lot of fun. I think right now I’m digging that “eggshell blue” color…always want to grab that acrylic paint first! LOL

  7. Welcome back Becky! Behind? Oh my goodness – that’s my middle name, ha ha! But that’s okay – it just means we have so many ideas and plans that we will always be looking forward and never behind.

While you were in D.C. my family and I were up in the Philly area picking up my cousin from Germany. She is visiting for about 10 days. We took her to Longwood Gardens and it was BEAUTIFUL! Loved it.

Looking forward to seeing your posts again – you were missed!

    God bless,
    Lisa

  10. Very pretty in pink – I very much like your little dress.
I have been distracted by green of late; the leaves have been hinting for weeks that they are indeed on the trees but will not come out more than 1/8″ per day it seems. The green haze deepens ever so slightly each day but will not burst out into the full glory…
Green is definitely on my mind!

  12. The pink shades in the window are fabulous! Pink is normally my go to color, but lately I’ve been drawn to various shades of yellow. Maybe it’s my desire for some sunshine.

I love the playful feel of your pretty pink dress!
