Every Spring I treat myself to a pair of new sandals. And I’ll be bringing these chocolate brown ones with me on our family vacation which starts tomorrow…yay!
With every step, I’ll be thinking of “dolce vita” – Italian for “the sweet life.”
And here’s a bit of something sweet for the eyes.
Some consider Lilies of the Valley to be the “flower of May.” I’ve also heard that they represent sweetness, purity and happiness. Finding the meaning behind every day things enhances my every day…it amazes me how these little things matter…like how the colors of my sandals with their pink label are the same as the pink and brown in the plate above. Also, the shape of the mini-lilies is echoed in the plate designs, which reminds me a bit of the braided leather strap of my new sandals. After coming across connections like these many many times, I’ve learned to be a conscious observer of my surroundings. This in turn allows me to better enjoy the moment…I believe this is where the sweetness in life lies.

It’s as if there is no random isn’t it – things are brought together like this for reasons. I can never really decide if they are what fuels our creativity, or if being creative makes us notice things like that – perhaps a bit of both….

Have a lovely vacation! I find myself gravitating to certain colors right now. After a dreary winter I love turquoise, orange, pink, yellow. I notice that I look for these colors in everyday objects, especially turquoise! And now with all of the trees blooming, I’m loving all the pink fluffy trees.
